ANDERSON – The Mounds Mall in Anderson and the land on which it sits have been tentatively sold to new owners. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report the building and property were sold to different owners Monday at the Madison County certificate sale for a total of $17,000.
The building was acquired for $12,000 by Mark Squillante. Two parcels of land that cover the Mounds Mall property were sold for a total of $5,000.
The mall property is currently owned by the Cook family, which has been looking to offload the property for more than a year. Last month, the family reached a deal to sell the property to Baumann RE LLC for $3 million.
ANDERSON — Construction work has started to convert the former Carter Lumber property into the new headquarters of ALA Trucking.
Work has started on the site, 5625 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., to convert the former lumber yard into a headquarters, warehouse, truck service center and parts store.
ANDERSON – A sister company to NTN Driveshaft will make a $98 million investment in Anderson that will bring 198 jobs to the city.
Anderson city officials will announce this morning that NTK Precision Axel Corp. will build a 300,000 square foot facility to the west of the NTN Driveshaft building near 73rd Street and Layton Road.
NTK hopes to start production at the Anderson facility in October 2018. The last of the 198 jobs are expected to be created by 2021.
ANDERSON – The owners of Raceway Industrial Park in Anderson have acquired a nearby property from the RACER Trust. The nearly 15-acre tract previously served as parking for the old General Motors facilities. Tower Anderson LLC says the property will be used to expand the park’s parking and storage capacity.
ANDERSON — Sometime next summer a portion of the electricity that powers air conditioning, televisions and appliances in Anderson will be derived via solar.
The Anderson City Council on Thursday approved a tax abatement for the construction of a solar electric generating facility by the Indiana Municipal Power Agency.
