In Memoriam: Rex Hume, Tax Representative
Rex brought extensive experience in the property tax field, serving as a consultant to the Indiana Commission on State Tax and Financing Policy during the 1979 General Reassessment, on the staff of the Indiana State Board of Tax Commissioners in the years just prior to the 1995 General Reassessment, and as a tax representative starting in 1995.
As an Indiana Certified Property Tax Representative and Level III Certified Assessor/Appraiser, Rex represented hundreds of clients in local and state real estate assessment appeals. He provided consulting services to clients on a variety of property tax issues.
Prior to entering the property tax field, Rex earned a BA cum laude from Princeton University and a MA from Indiana University and served as assistant director of a university-based research and development institute for a number of years. Rex lived in Valparaiso with his wife Linda and sang with the Northwest Indiana Symphony Chorus and Apollo Chorus of Chicago.
We miss Rex dearly.
